After graduation, I continued to work for O’Brien’s Lumber until the fall and then I worked in the factory for the rest of the year. In February 1961 I joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Ft. Meade, MD.  In October 1962 I married Marlene Larkin in October 1962 and we have two boys, Rick in 1964 and Doug in 1966. In 1969, we adopted a daughter, Tonya and took in a foster daughter Yvonne in 1981. We have six grandchildren.

After the Marines, we moved to Red Creek Road, Wolcott, NY and now reside in the Village of Wolcott in the summer and Dade City, FL in the winter. I worked at Xerox Corp. where I became a pipe fitter. I retired in 1995 and I started my own handy man business.

I was "killed" (long story)  in a motor vehicle accident in Nov. 98.  As a result, I now have 30+ screws, steel plates and rods in my feet, heels, ankles, legs and left arm. I’ve been on disability since then, but have improved the past couple of years to where I can walk 1/2 mile without a lot of problems. I have been able to get back out on the golf course and Marlene and I enjoy playing year around (north and south). I’m very active in the United Methodist Church when in New York and I’ve been a Certified Lay Speaker since 1969 and play guitar in our praise band.  In FL,  I’m involved in the Glee Club, playing guitar as well as singing. I take part two nights a month in a “country jam” where we perform on stage. I organize the Saturday breakfasts and help with other meals at our park and am involved with the church program at the park where we stay for the winter. I’m also involved in the church program at the park.
