I married Bill Briggs in October 1960. In 1961, after Bill graduated from RIT, our first child (a daughter) was born. In 1963, we moved to Woodland California where our second child (a son) was born.

We moved quite a bit over the years, living in California, Illinois, Georgia, New York and Massachusetts. We unofficially adopted another girl while living in Massachusetts. I have 10 grandchildren. My oldest granddaughter is 27. She was married in September 2009 and is a United Methodist minister serving in Oneida, New York.

I became a widow in 1990 when my husband of thirty years was killed in a plane crash in Zurich, Switzerland. After Bill’s death, I earned my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Finger Lakes Community College. Since Bill’s death I have traveled extensively and have enjoyed my family. I play golf, like to read, play bridge, volunteer at our local food closet, am a member of the United Methodist Women, sing in my church choir and play hand bells.
