After graduation, I attended Duquesne University in Pittsburg and received a BA in Psychology (1960 -1964). I met my husband Richard "Rich" Vereb there in 1961. I worked for the Dept. of Public Welfare in Pittsburg for two years after graduating.
I married Rich in 1965, after he received his BS in Pharmacy. We had four children: Christopher (Carole) married with aq boy and three daughters in Harrisburg, David (who died at age 18 in 1987 due to health problems), Anita who is single, an audiologist, working on her PhD at the University of Michigan and lives in Ann Arbor, MI, and Daniel (Sharon) with 3 boys in Philly. We have two granddaughters and four grandsons ages 15 to 2 years.
I worked part-time as a receptionist in a doctor’s office from 1983 to 1989. In 1989, I returned to school and received a Masters Degree in Counseling Services in 1991. After graduation, I worked for a local funeral home as a Certified Grief Counselor, working with families and running support groups for over 14-years. I retired in 2007, but still do contract counseling for them on an as needed basis. I also volunteer here locally at “Hopeful Hearts” which is a center for grieving children and their families.
My husband is semi-retired and we have started to do some traveling. We were off to Australia in February 2010 to visit my sister Anne as our first big adventure.
